Some thoughts

For us, the intent was to address a hostile condition with a comforting gesture. This was a small, ephemeral act - the minute scale in time and physical intervention was quite a departure for both of us. It would be interesting to try to continue the project through other interventions / actions at other locations which are also hedged or guarded in this way.

These protected edges are almost like mini-militarized zones, and they appear in different forms, armed with different systems, in every city. I'll look for some analogous conditions here in Boston and post.

It would be great if we could get some images of situations like these and responses to them from other cities....I'm still looking for a place to do a mini-war scene with plastic green army men and camouflage! (image courtesy of sirdavethebrave)
